PFA shuts down dairy unit over serious hygiene violations

MUZAFFARGARH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Jun, 2026) The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) conducted a major operation near Tileri Canal on Multan Road, where a dairy unit was sealed for serious violations of food safety standards.

According to a PFA spokesperson, the production activities at the facility were immediately stopped and around 8,000 empty bottles along with other equipment were confiscated during the raid.

Officials said the unit was allegedly using contaminated and unsafe ingredients, including fungus-affected cardamom and unhygienic sugar, in the preparation of sweetened milk bottles.

The inspection further revealed alarming sanitation issues, including the presence of rodent droppings and insect infestation in the storage area.
