MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Apr, 2026) The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Monday unearthed a fake milk production network in Vehari,seizing more than 4,000 liters of adulterated milk during raids in Karampur and Mailsi.
According to a PFA spokesperson,enforcement teams conducted operations in Mouza Dhalo (Mailsi) and Mouza Hassan Shah (Karampur), where two illegal units involved in the production of synthetic milk were identified and sealed.
During the raids,officials disposed of over 4,000 liters of counterfeit milk.
They also recovered 75 kilograms of powdered material,40 liters of vegetable oil and a large quantity of mixing machinery and storage equipment used in the preparation process.
The Director General(DG)Punjab Food Authority(PFA) said that the suspects were manufacturing a milk-like substance by mixing powder,vegetable oil and other substandard ingredients,which was being prepared for distribution in various areas in bulk quantities,posing serious health risks to consumers.
He said two individuals were arrested on the spot and cases were registered against them.
The DG reiterated that milk is a complete and essential food item and its adulteration would not be tolerated under any circumstances,adding that strict action would continue against those involved in endangering public health,particularly that of children.
