PFA unearths two fake cold drink units,460 liters soda water seized

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Apr, 2026) The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Tuesday busted two illegal soda water units in Sahiwal tehsil involved in the production of counterfeit branded beverages, as part of its ongoing crackdown against fake drinks.

According to an official handout, PFA teams raided the facilities and caught them red-handed while preparing counterfeit soft drinks of a well-known brand.

During the operation,authorities destroyed 200 liters of fake beverages on the spot and seized a further 260 liters.

Cases have been registered against the owners under relevant laws,while further legal proceedings were in progress.

The PFA has urged citizens to report food safety violations via its helpline 1223,reiterating its resolve to ensure the availability of safe and hygienic food across the region.
