PHA launches plantation drive in Zone VI

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Apr, 2026) Under the “Green Lahore Vision” of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the PHA Lahore has launched a comprehensive plantation drive in Zone VI to enhance the city’s green cover and beauty.

Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Punjab, Rashid Iqbal Nasrullah, attended the ceremony and formally inaugurated the campaign by planting a sapling in the Adda Plot area. On this occasion, Additional Managing Director Headquarters, Zonah Waheed Butt, gave a detailed briefing on the scope and objectives of the plantation initiative. The ceremony was also attended by Additional Managing Directors Nabeel Riaz Sandhu, Sonia Kaleem, and Project Director Abdullah Cheema.

According to PHA officials, thousands of plants will be planted across key areas of Zone VI, including Raiwind Road and Adda Plot.

The campaign will particularly focus on flowering plants to further enhance the aesthetic appeal of Lahore.

Speaking on the occasion, Rashid Iqbal Nasrullah stated that a beautiful and green Lahore is a top priority of the Chief Minister. He emphasized that plantation is the most effective and sustainable solution to environmental challenges, adding that concrete steps are being taken to increase the city’s green cover.He further highlighted that the plantation drive will significantly contribute to Lahore’s beautification, and PHA is playing a vital role in this regard. The Punjab government, he added, is utilizing all available resources to ensure environmental improvement and sustainable urban development in the provincial capital.
