PIFD organizes entrepreneurship gala

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th May, 2026) The Directorate of Student Start-Up Business Centre (SSBC) at the Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design (PIFD) successfully organized the 1st Entrepreneurship Gala 2026, providing a platform for PIFD’s 2nd year undergraduate students to showcase their entrepreneurial ideas, creativity, and practical skills, here on Thursday.

A total of 140 student start-ups from all undergraduate degree programs of 2nd year were exhibited during the event, reflecting innovation across fashion, design, textiles, lifestyle, and creative business ventures.

The event was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Adeel Akram, Vice Chancellor of Punjab Tianjin University of Technology, along with Prof. Hina Tayyaba Khalil, Vice Chancellor of Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design (PIFD), and distinguished guests including Ms.

Resham Shehzad, Director at Arshad Group.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Adeel Akram said:

“Events like the Entrepreneurship Gala encourage students to transform creative ideas into meaningful business ventures and future opportunities.”

Prof. Hina Tayyaba Khalil highlighted PIFD’s vision of combining design education with entrepreneurship.

Appreciating the students’ efforts, Ms. Resham Shehzad remarked:

The gala concluded with networking and interaction sessions between students, faculty members, industry representatives, and guests.
