At the National Bank Stadium Karachi today, on the occasion of the sixth double-header of the HBL PSL, a “Pink Day” will be observed to raise awareness about breast cancer.
In collaboration with Pakistan’s first breast cancer charity hospital, “Pink Ribbon,” this campaign will see all players and officials wearing pink caps and pink ribbons during both matches today. To mark the occasion, the stumps and all graphics have also been colored pink.
In the first match of the day, Hyderabad Kings Men will face Rawalpindi, while in the second match Karachi Kings will take on Islamabad United. To further support the campaign, players from the Pakistan women’s cricket team — Fatima Sana, Syeda Aroob Shah, Rameen Shamim, and Muneeba Ali — have also been invited. They will participate in the warm-up sessions of all four teams before the matches.
Breast cancer accounts for the highest proportion of total cancer cases in Pakistan, and the main objective of this campaign is to promote early detection of the disease and spread the message of resilience in fighting it.
Cricket fans have also been encouraged to take part in the campaign by using the hashtag #GoPink on the social media platform “X” at 8 PM tonight.
