RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Apr, 2026) A comprehensive strategy with clear targets has been devised to transform public sector colleges into quality educational institutions across Rawalpindi Division.

The announcement was made at a seminar held at Government Associate College Dhoke Hassu, where Director Colleges Amjad Iqbal Khattak attended as chief guest.

Teachers, educationists and college administration officials participated in the seminar and discussed measures to improve academic standards, align with modern teaching requirements and ensure holistic development of students.

Addressing the participants, Amjad Iqbal Khattak said that besides improving curriculum standards, it was essential to ensure professional training of teachers, provision of digital facilities and maintenance of discipline to modernise public colleges.

He emphasized that a practical strategy had been devised and would be implemented in phases to achieve the desired goals.

He also announced the establishment of a special divisional-level committee to guide “shining star” students in collaboration with district and divisional career counselling bodies and the academic wing.

The committee, he said, would help students secure top positions in board examinations and ensure merit-based academic excellence.

He added that the initiative had been given a target of securing at least 11 top positions in upcoming examinations through organised planning, teacher guidance and focused preparation.

The director colleges said regular performance monitoring, effective student guidance systems and improved facilities would help bring public colleges at par with private institutions.
