Decision has been taken after hockey players faced huge trouble and embarrassment after reaching in Australia

ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Feb 18th, 2026) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has decided to remove the management of the Pakistan hockey team following an inquiry into the poor conditions faced by players during their tour of Australia.

The inquiry was initiated by the Pakistan sports board after reports emerged regarding substandard accommodation and meals provided to the players. Yasir Pirzada, Director General of the Pakistan Sports Board, ordered the investigation.

The decision was taken after the hockey players faced huge trouble and embarrassment after reaching in Australia.

The inquiry committee was chaired by Chief Financial Officer Hasnat Ahmed, with Saeed Ahmed Chaudhry and Rana Nasrullah serving as members. The committee completed its investigation in a single day and submitted its report to DG Yasir Pirzada.

Based on the findings, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the removal of Hockey Federation President Mir Tariq Bugti, General Secretary Rana Mujahid, and the rest of the team management.
