LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th May, 2026) Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday held a telephone conversation with H.E. Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of the Republic of Turkiye, on the auspicious occasion of Eid ul-Azha.
During their most warm and cordial call, the Prime Minister conveyed Eid ul Azha greetings to the Turkish leadership and brotherly Turkish people, which were warmly reciprocated by President Erdogan.
While recalling their frequent engagements, including their most recent meeting in Antalya, last April, the two leaders reaffirmed that the historic and time-tested fraternal bonds between Turkiye and Pakistan have been strengthened even further.
Both leaders agreed to fast-track implementation of key decisions from their recent high-level meetings, with a focus on accelerating bilateral cooperation in trade and investment.

The Prime Minister thanked President Erdogan for Turkiye’s strong and consistent support for the Pakistan-led peace initiative.
The two leaders also agreed to continue working closely to promote peace in the region through dialogue, stability and de-escalation.
President Erdogan expressed deep condolences over the tragic train bombing incident in Balochistan on
May 24 and assured that Turkiye would always stand with Pakistan in dealing with terrorism.
The Prime Minister thanked the Turkish President for his expression of solidarity and sympathy and said that Pakistan would continue to combat terrorism in all its manifestations.
