PM Shehbaz, Malaysian Counterpart exchange Eid greetings, discuss regional situation

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Mar, 2026) Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with Malaysian Prime Minister Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Friday, during which the two leaders exchanged Eid-ul-Fitr greetings and discussed the regional situation.

During the warm and cordial conversation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif felicitated the Malaysian leadership, the government and the people on Eid-ul-Fitr,while Anwar Ibrahim reciprocated the sentiments with equal warmth and cordiality.

Praying for peace and harmony in the Ummah, both leaders called for de-escalation of the ongoing hostilities in Iran and the Gulf region and agreed to continue working together to advance peace efforts in this regard.

The two prime ministers also expressed satisfaction over the positive momentum in bilateral ties and reaffirmed their shared resolve to further strengthen the fraternal relations between Pakistan and Malaysia.
