PM Youth Programme Chairman Rana Mashhood Announces Major Initiatives for Gilgit-Baltistan Youth

GILGIT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th May, 2026) Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, Rana Mashhood received a warm welcome from senior leaders and workers of Pakistan Muslim League (N) Gilgit-Baltistan upon his arrival at the party’s Central Secretariat on Airport RoadGilgit on Thursday.

During his visit Rana Mashhood held a detailed meeting with office-bearers and party leaders of PML-N Gilgit-Baltistan, where discussions were held on upcoming elections, organizational matters and practical initiatives for the welfare and empowerment of the youth in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Speaking on the occasion Rana Mashhood said that the youth of Gilgit-Baltistan possess immense talent and potential, and providing them with equal opportunities is among the government’s top priorities.

He stated that the Prime Minister’s Youth Loan Scheme has already been launched, enabling young people in Gilgit-Baltistan to establish their own businesses and achieve financial independence, which would also help reduce unemployment in the region.

He further said that under the directives of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, youth from Gilgit-Baltistan would be sent abroad for employment opportunities according to the region’s annual quota, creating better career prospects for young people.

The Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme also announced that under the Prime Minister’s Youth Scheme 100,000 electric bikes would be distributed across Pakistan, including Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. In the first phase, 3,000 electric bikes will be allocated to the youth of Gilgit-Baltistan to facilitate transportation and support their educational and employment needs.
