PML-N govt to turn AJK into a true welfare state after securing land-slide victory in General Elections 2026: Manzoor

MIRPUR (AJK) , (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point news - 4th May, 2026) A senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League (N) said on Monday the party aimed to transform the region into a welfare state and secure a landslide victory in the 2026 general elections.

Raja Kamran Manzoor, Central Joint Secretary , PML-N’s AJK chapter, told APP that Pakistan was playing an effective global role under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the armed forces led by Asim Munir.

He said a comprehensive strategy would be devised to develop AJK into an exemplary region at national and international levels, opening new avenues of prosperity and steering it toward a peaceful and stable future.

Manzoor described the decision of senior politician Raja Zulqarnain Khan and his associates to join PML-N as a significant development in regional politics.

He said the move would contribute to a sweeping victory for the party in the upcoming elections scheduled for mid-2026.

He added that the inclusion of experienced politicians alongside younger leadership would energize the party and help it secure a two-thirds majority in Bhimber district.

Manzoor said cooperation between Central General Secretary, Chaudhry Tariq Farooq and Raja Babar Ali Zulqarnain would usher in a new phase of political development and public service, with tangible benefits reaching the people.

He expressed confidence that PML-N would achieve broad electoral success across AJK under the leadership of party president Shah Ghulam Qadir and former prime minister Raja Farooq Haider, forming a government with a two-thirds majority.

Manzoor said the vision of party leader Nawaz Sharif, combined with the policies of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, would be implemented in AJK to accelerate development and stability.
