PML-N MNA organizes free medical camp for prisoners in Abbottabad Jail

ABBOTTABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Apr, 2026) A free medical camp was organized at District Jail Abbottabad under the patronage of Pakistan Muslim League-N Women Wing Hazara Division President and Member of the National Assembly, Dr. Shaista Khan Jadun.

During the camp, a team of qualified doctors conducted comprehensive medical check-ups of inmates, diagnosed various health conditions, and provided free medicines. The initiative was arranged by the welfare organization Help the Humanity.

The medical team comprised specialist physicians and mental health experts, who not only treated physical ailments but also addressed psychological issues. A dedicated awareness session on mental health was also held, offering guidance to prisoners on managing stress, depression, and other mental health challenges.

Member of the Provincial Assembly Shehla Bano, the Jail Superintendent, and other prison officials were also present on the occasion.

Speaking during the visit, Dr. Shaista Jadun emphasized the importance of preventive healthcare and advised inmates on precautionary measures against seasonal and infectious diseases.

She also shared recommendations with the jail administration to ensure a healthier environment within the facility.

The Jail Superintendent appreciated the initiative and, while briefing attendees, highlighted ongoing efforts to ensure the well-being of inmates, including various health-focused and welfare activities.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Shaista Jadun stated that prisoners are an integral part of society and their health and well-being remain a collective responsibility. She reiterated that the purpose of organizing the camp was to serve humanity and extend basic healthcare services to underserved individuals.

She also expressed her commitment to continuing such welfare initiatives in the future. The jail administration welcomed the effort and expressed hope that similar activities would contribute positively to the physical and mental well-being of inmates.
