PMWF urges review of PSB affiliation decision

MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Apr, 2026) President Pakistan Mas-Wrestling Federation (PMWF),Nawab Furqan Khan on Monday called for a review of recent decisions taken during the 36th board Meeting of the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), particularly regarding the interim affiliation granted to the Pakistan Padel Federation.

In a statement issued here,he emphasized the importance of ensuring transparency, consistency, and equal opportunities for all sports federations in line with established policies and procedures. He noted that adherence to defined requirements and merit-based evaluation plays a key role in strengthening the sports system in the country.

Nawab Furqan Khan highlighted that the Pakistan Mas-Wrestling Federation has been seeking affiliation for several years and expressed hope that its application would be considered on priority in accordance with relevant guidelines.

He also stressed the need for facilitating athletes and federations to promote sports at both national and international levels, and called for a supportive environment that encourages fair participation and recognition.

The PMWF President urged the authorities to ensure equal treatment of all federations,timely processing of applications, and further strengthening of institutional mechanisms to promote transparency and merit in sports administration.

He reaffirmed that the Pakistan Mas-Wrestling Federation remains committed to the development and promotion of traditional sports in Pakistan and looks forward to constructive engagement with relevant authorities for the growth of the sector.
