ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Jun, 2026) The Prime Minister’s Youth business and Agriculture Loan Scheme (PMYB&ALS) is making significant strides in promoting entrepreneurship and employment generation across Pakistan.
According to Economic Survey 2025-26, during July-February FY 2026, loans amounting to Rs 58 billion were disbursed into 114,815 beneficiaries, creating over 359,000 employment opportunities.
An impact study conducted by the Commonwealth Secretariat has further validated the programme’s effectiveness, highlighting a strong employment multiplier of 3.13 jobs per loan, reflecting its transformative impact.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Since the scheme launched in 2013, it has disbursed Rs 304 billion, benefiting approximately 535,233 individuals and generating an estimated 1.68 million jobs.
The scheme is playing a pivotal role in fostering entrepreneurship, supporting SMEs, and driving inclusive economic growth, particularly among youth and underserved segments of society.
It has evolved into Pakistan’s largest financing portfolio for micro and small enterprises, providing accessible and inclusive financial support to drive entrepreneurship and economic growth.
