Police arrest 5 members of inter-provincial dacoit gang in Tando Adam encounter

SANGHAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Mar, 2026) Police claimed to have busted an inter-provincial dacoit gang and arrested five suspects, including two in an injured condition, after an encounter in Tando Adam.

According to police, a team led by SHO Tando Adam, Mohammad Hanif Mehr, was on routine patrol when they intercepted five armed men allegedly planning a robbery. The suspects opened fire on the police to evade arrest, triggering a retaliatory exchange.

After a brief exchange of fire, two suspects Amir alias Tando Malik and Sajjad alias Raja Rahoo were arrested in an injured condition, and two TT pistols were recovered from their possession.

Police said that three other members of the gang Usman Sheikh, Babar Ali Gujar and Zeeshan alias Shan Sheikh were also apprehended with TT pistols were seized from them.

The police also recovered, a motorcycle and three snatched mobile phones from the suspects' possession. The recovered items have already been linked to previous criminal cases.

A case has been registered under Sections 324, 353, 399, 402 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code. Additionally, five separate cases were lodged against the suspects for illegal weapon possession.

Authorities believe the gang operated across multiple districts in Sindh. Further investigations are underway.
