Police arrest dacoit after shootout

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Apr, 2026) A record-holder dacoit was arrested in an injured condition after a shootout, here on Friday.

According to a police spokesperson here, police recovered a snatched motorcycle, gold ring, cash and illicit weapons from the accused Zain, son of Khaliq, who was wanted by police in eight cases.

The encounter took place near Khanoana flour mills, an area of Saddar police where two dacoits riding a motorcycle snatched cash and gold ring from a citizen Ramazan and fled towards Khanoana.

Police encircled them and after an exchange of fire, the criminal was held in an injured condition.

Police have initiated legal action.
