Police arrests main accused in Kashif murder case

HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th May, 2026) Qasimabad Police makes major breakthrough in Kashif Baghi murder case, main accused Afaq arrested from Islamabad, transferred to Hyderabad on transit remand

The tragic incident of the murder of PPP Shaheed Bhutto worker Kashif Qaimkhani alias “Kashif Baghi” took place on March 13, 2026, in the Sandag Cottage Plaza within the limits of Police Station

As soon as the incident was reported, Qasimabad Police immediately reached the scene on the special instructions of SSP Hyderabad Shahzeb Chachar, where evidence was collected and legal action was taken as per the procedure,case was registered against the accused Walid Farooqi, Afaq and two unknown persons under sections 302, 109 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of the deceased’s brother Muhammad Asif Qaimkhani and an investigation was started on various aspects.

During the investigation and taking action on modern technical grounds, on May 12, 2026, the investigating officer of the case, Inspector Bachal Dil, arrested the main accused Afaq from Islamabad.

According to the initial investigation, accused Waleed Farooqi had killed Kashif Baghi at the instigation of accused Afaq.

Qasimabad Police has transferred the accused to Hyderabad after obtaining a two-day transit remand of accused Afaq from the Judicial Magistrate Sector 30, West Islamabad, where investigation is underway against the other accused.
