MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Jul, 2026) Multan Police have claimed an overall decline of more than 50 per cent in crime across the district during the first six months of 2026, attributing the improvement to intelligence-led policing, enhanced patrolling, search operations and targeted crackdowns on criminal gangs.

According to a police performance report issued here on Friday, robbery incidents fell by 80 per cent, car snatching was eliminated with a 100 per cent decline, motorcycle snatching dropped by 63 per cent, while motorcycle theft decreased by 56 per cent compared to the corresponding period of last year.

The report said total registered cases declined from 35,024 in the first half of 2025 to 17,541 during the same period this year.

CPO Sadiq Ali Dogar said the police would continue taking all necessary measures to curb crime and ensure a safe and peaceful environment for the people of Multan.
