LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Apr, 2026) Punjab Police continued their search, sweep and combing operations across the province, including Lahore, conducting 486 operations during the past 24 hours. According to the police spokesperson, more than 15,000 individuals were questioned, while 175 suspected persons were taken into custody.
The spokesperson said that a significant cache of weapons was recovered from the possession of criminals, including two Kalashnikovs, one rifle, 17 pistols, one gun and a large quantity of ammunition.
He further stated that the crackdown also targeted narcotics dealers, leading to the arrest of 24 drug peddlers. Police recovered 18 kilograms of charas, 2 kilograms of heroin and 327 litres of liquor from their possession.
Inspector General of Punjab Police Abdul Kareem has directed that search, sweep and combing operations against dangerous criminals and elements involved in heinous crimes should continue without interruption to ensure law and order across the province.
