Police constable dismissed from service over alleged involvement in goat theft case

MANSEHERA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Jun, 2026) District Police Officer (DPO) Mansehra, Muhammad Azhar Khan, has dismissed a police constable from service after taking notice of reports circulating on social media regarding his alleged involvement in a goat theft case in Abbottabad.

According to a spokesperson for Mansehra Police, the DPO ordered an immediate inquiry into the matter upon receiving information through social media. The accused constable, identified as Nawaz Muslim, son of Riaz, was found to be involved in the theft case, for which a formal FIR had already been registered in Abbottabad under relevant theft charges.

Following the findings and in accordance with the police department’s zero-tolerance policy, the DPO ordered the immediate dismissal of the constable from service.

Speaking on the occasion, DPO Muhammad Azhar Khan said there is no place in Mansehra Police for individuals who bring disrepute to the police uniform. He reiterated that the department is committed to protecting the lives and property of citizens and that strict action will continue against anyone involved in criminal activities, regardless of their position.
