Police make tight security arrangements for 8th Muharram

SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Jun, 2026) More than 1500 police officers and jawans performed security duties for 79 processions including 10 of Category A, 13 of Category B and 244 gatherings across the district on 8 Muharram.

SP Investigation Imran Abbas Chadhar supervised all gatherings and processions.

In this regard, DPO Sargodha said that the cooperation of peace committees, scholars and the business community was absolutely essential for the peaceful conduct of Muharram.

He said that scholars of all schools of thought and members of the district peace committee were in full contact with the administration so that an atmosphere of religious harmony and brotherhood could be maintained. He further said that to make the security foolproof, the procession routes were being searched and swept, while surveillance had been ensured through CCTV cameras and walk-through gates.
