KOHAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jul, 2026) A police officer and a 13-year-old schoolboy were killed in two separate shooting incidents near the Water Springs area of Jungle Khel in Kohat, police and local sources said on Thursday.

In the first incident, unidentified gunmen opened fire on Rahim Khan Shinwari, a police official posted in Kurram district, near the Water Springs. He sustained fatal gunshot wounds and died at the scene. Police have launched an investigation and are searching for those involved in the attack.

In a separate incident near the same locality, 13-year-old Naqeebullah, a resident of Mian Garhi, was struck by gunfire after reportedly being caught in the crossfire. The injured boy was rushed to hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The two incidents have triggered concern among local residents, who have called for enhanced security measures around the area and urged law enforcement agencies to arrest those responsible. Authorities said investigations into both incidents are under way.
