Police, Rangers hold flag march for Muharram security

MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jun, 2026) Multan Police, in coordination with Rangers, carried out a joint flag march across various parts of the city to strengthen security arrangements and maintain law and order during Muharram-ul-Haram.

The flag march was conducted on the directions of City Police Officer (CPO) Multan Sadiq Ali Dogar as part of efforts to further enhance security measures in the district and ensure a peaceful atmosphere during Muharram.

The march was led by SSP Operations Multan Haider Ali and attended by SP City Division Bedar Bakht, SP Gulgasht Saifullah, SP Cantt Dr Khadija Umar, DSPs and SHOs. Personnel from Traffic Police, Elite Force, Dolphin Force and Muhafiz Squad also participated in the march.

The flag march started from Police Lines Multan and passed through several key areas of the city, including MDA Chowk, Razaabad Chowk, Suraj Miani UBL Chowk, Pul Wasil, Chungi No 1, High Court Chowk, Chungi No 7 and Kachehri Chowk before concluding back at Police Lines.

Speaking on the occasion, SSP Operations Haider Ali said effective security arrangements had been put in place in Multan to avert any untoward incident during Muharram. He said Multan Police were utilizing all available resources to ensure protection of life and property of citizens. He said the main objective of the flag march was to make security more effective during Muharram-ul-Haram, maintain law and order in the district and remain fully prepared to respond to any untoward situation so that miscreants could not succeed in their nefarious designs.
