Police takes notice of video of girl allegedly claiming for forced into marriage

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Apr, 2026) Shaheed Benazirabad Police have taken immediate notice of a video circulating on social media in which a girl allegedly claimed she was forced into marriage and sold.

Senior Superintendent of Police Sameer Noor Channa ordered an inquiry into the matter considering its sensitive nature. According to police spokesperson, following initial investigations and a subsequent statement from the girl, the situation has become clearer.

In her recent statement, girl declared that videos circulating on social media were baseless and fake. She stated that she had entered into marriage of her own free will and is living happily and safely with her husband.

To ensure transparency, the SSP has appointed DSP Saddar as inquiry officer. The girl, who is a resident of Taluka Nawabshah, is also being investigated by SHO concerned, who is conducting a thorough review from all angles.

The inquiry officer has been directed to examine all aspects of case and submit a final report at the earliest so that facts can be presented before the public. On the other hand,

SSP said that maintaining law and order in the district, and ensuring safety of citizens, especially women, remains top priority. He added that no misleading information or unlawful activity will be tolerated.
