Police teams shine in inter-district sports contests in Lahore

Annual inter-district police sports competitions continued in Lahore on the directions of President All Pakistan Police Sports Board and Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem, with wrestling, Wushu and weightlifting events held at Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Apr, 2026) Annual inter-district police sports competitions continued in Lahore on the directions of President All Pakistan Police Sports board and Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem, with wrestling, Wushu and weightlifting events held at Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh.

According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, players from various units participated enthusiastically and displayed outstanding performance in the competitions.

In wrestling, Sports Wing Lahore secured first position, Anti-Riot Force second and Special Protection Unit (SPU) third. In Wushu, Police Lines Lahore clinched first position, Dolphin Force second and Anti-Riot Force third.

In weightlifting, Sports Wing Lahore secured first position, followed by Anti-Riot Force and Elite Squad Lahore at second and third positions, respectively. The IG Punjab appreciated and congratulated the players who secured top honours.

Chief Sports Officer Athar Ismail Amjad said that inter-district tournaments would help identify talented players to form strong police teams for various sports. He added that outstanding performers would also have the opportunity to represent national teams through their achievements.
