HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Jun, 2026) A group of the transgender community has urged the Hyderabad police to forgive some persons of their community who staged an unlawful protest inside office of SSP of the city on June 3.
At a press conference at Hyderabad Press Club on Sunday, Maryam Shaikh and Sana Khan blamed the former In-charge of Women and Children Complaint Cell, Maria Sario, for inciting the transgenders to stage such a protest.
"The transgenders are innocent people who make a living mostly through arts and music.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>They are trapped to hold a demonstration inside the SSP office," said Shaikh.
The Hyderabad police on June 3 arrested Sario and 15 transgenders and booked them in an FIR at Cantt police station.
A day later a civil judge and judicial magistrate sent all of them to jail on a 14-day judicial remand.Shaikh, Khan and their other associates at the press conference urged the police to show mercy to their community's members and to pursue the criminal case only against Sario who was allegedly the incident's mastermind.
