Policeman laid to rest with full state honours in Bannu

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Apr, 2026) The funeral prayers of a brave police official, Constable Sher Muhammad, were offered with full state honours at Iqbal Shaheed Police Lines in Bannu, according to a spokesperson of district Police.

A large number of senior officials, police personnel, and relatives attended the funeral, including District Police Officer Bannu Yasar Afridi, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Faheem, and Deputy Commander 116 Brigade Colonel Talat.

Speaking on the occasion, DPO Yasar Afridi paid tribute to the sacrifices of Bannu Police, stating that the bravery of the force would not go in vain.

He emphasized that martyrs are a source of pride for the nation, and their sacrifices continue to strengthen peace in the country. He also assured that the terrorists involved in the incident would soon be brought to justice.

It is worth mentioning that Constable Sher Muhammad embraced martyrdom earlier on Monday morning after unidentified motorcyclists opened fire near Kinger Jan Bahadur on Miryan Road in Bannu.

A search operation was underway in the area to apprehend those responsible for the attack, the police spokesperson added.
