Portugal envoy calls on Governor Punjab

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Jul, 2026) The Ambassador of Portugal to Pakistan Paulo Domingues called on Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan and discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations in business, agriculture, education and culture during a meeting at the Governor's House here on Friday.

Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, while speaking on the occasion said that there was a need to further promote bilateral cooperation between the two countries in various sectors.

Governor Punjab further said that Pakistan is a peaceful country with vast investment opportunities.

He said there should be more exchanges of delegations of the business community between the two countries to promote investment.

Regarding increasing cooperation in tourism, the Governor Punjab said that the northern areas of Pakistan are endowed with breath taking natural beauty. He said that Pakistan wants to enhance cooperation with Portugal in the field of tourism.

He further said there should be student exchange programmes in higher education between Pakistan and Portugal.

Ambassador of Portugal Paulo Domingues reiterated the commitment to promote bilateral cooperation in various sectors including business, tourism and education.
