Post landslide relief operations at Jhika Gali launched

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Jul, 2026) Rescue 1122 teams and the Murree district administration on Wednesday initiated immediate relief and rehabilitation operations following a monsoon rain-triggered landslide in the Jhika Gali area of Murree, evacuating vulnerable households to safe locations.

Upon receiving reports of the incident, emergency response teams rushed to the site to assist affected residents, safely relocating several families along with their household belongings due to potential threats to adjoining residential structures.

Assistant Commissioner Murree along with District Emergency Officer Rescue 1122 visited the affected site to supervise ongoing relief activities.

Inspecting the field operations, officers instructed personnel from all line departments to remain on-site to ensure a rapid response to any emerging emergency.

Along with Rescue 1122, teams from WAPDA, the Forest Department, Suthra Punjab, and municipal authorities actively engaged in clearing debris, restoring utilities, and assisting affected families. The district administration assured that all essential facilities and support would be extended to the displaced households.
