CHINIOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Apr, 2026) Acting on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan, the Agriculture Extension Department on Monday launched a comprehensive, timely, and crucial field survey under the supervision of Deputy Director Shabazz Ahmed. Moreover, following the recent rains, officials moved promptly to assess the condition of the wheat crop across various areas of the district.
Meanwhile, agriculture officers thoroughly visited fields and conducted a detailed evaluation of the crop, focusing on estimating the potential, serious, and widespread damage caused by rainwater accumulation. However, farmers were simultaneously provided with practical guidance to mitigate losses and protect their standing crops.
During the visits, officials clearly advised farmers to immediately drain stagnant rainwater from their fields into nearby drains or adjoining lands. Furthermore, they stressed that prolonged waterlogging could severely impact crop health if not addressed in time.
According to the Agriculture Department, timely drainage remains a vital and effective step to safeguard wheat production. Authorities warned that any delay in removing standing water could lead to further deterioration, urging farmers to act swiftly to minimize damage.
