Power theft scheme busted in Quetta; suspect arrested

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Jun, 2026) In a major crackdown against electricity theft, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Task Force and Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) teams carried out a joint operation late Friday night under the directives of QESCO Chief Executive Officer Engineer Shaukat Ali Jogezai.

Teams from the FIA Task Force and QESCO’s Sariab Operations Division raided the Khili area of Karani Subdivision along the Western Bypass. During the operation, a private water supply scheme was found illegally drawing electricity directly from 11 kV jumpers to power its bore system.

Further investigation revealed another bore was being supplied through a hidden underground 50 kVA transformer. The joint teams dug up the site and recovered the illegally installed transformer.
