CHINIOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Jun, 2026) Pakistan People's Party (PPP) District Chiniot leader Syed Kaleem Ali Amir on Sunday expressed concern over rising inflation, claiming that the public had not received adequate relief despite a decline in petroleum prices in the international market.
In a statement, Amir said global oil prices had been falling, but the government had failed to pass on the full benefit to consumers. He alleged that while fuel prices had not been reduced proportionately, the cost of electricity, gas and essential commodities had continued to rise, placing an increasing financial burden on households.
He claimed that middle-income families and daily wage earners, including those in Chiniot district, were bearing the brunt of the prevailing economic conditions.

Amir urged the government to provide immediate relief by transferring the benefits of lower global petroleum prices to consumers across the country. He called on the authorities to take practical steps to ease inflationary pressures and improve the living conditions of the common people.
