PPP leaders criticize statement on GSP Plus

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Mar, 2026) Senior leaders of the Pakistan Peoples Party, including Makhdoom Ahmed Mahmood, Khawaja Rizwan Alam, and Abdul Qadir Shahen termed recent remarks by the son of founder of the PTI on GSP Plus as irresponsible and against

the national interest.

In a joint statement, they said the GSP Plus is vital for Pakistan’s exports, economic stability, and millions of livelihoods, warning that careless comments could harm the country’s global image.

They stressed that national interest must remain above political considerations and urged restraint in making statements that could undermine Pakistan internationally.
