PPP Secretary General expresses grief over martyrdom of Maulana Idrees

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th May, 2026) Central Secretary General of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Muhammad Humayun Khan Tuesday expressed profound grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of Sheikh-ul-Hadith Maulana Muhammad Idrees.

He termed the incident as tragic and strongly condemnable, saying that it has plunged the entire nation into mourning.

In his statement, he said that Maulana Muhammad Idrees was a distinguished religious scholar and a respected figure who dedicated his life to the betterment of society. "His martyrdom is an irreparable loss not only for religious circles but for the entire nation," he added.

He said that such incidents pose a serious threat to peace and stability in the country and must be condemned in the strongest possible terms.

Humayun Khan strongly condemned the attack and demanded the immediate arrest of those responsible.

He emphasized that the perpetrators must be brought to justice and given exemplary punishment to prevent such heinous acts in the future.

Humayun Khan said that the provincial government has failed to maintain law and order, and the protection of citizens’ lives and property is the foremost responsibility of the state. However, the current situation reflects otherwise.

He urged the authorities to take immediate and effective measures to restore peace and ensure public safety. He prayed for the elevation of the departed soul’s ranks and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. Humayun Khan affirmed that Pakistan Peoples Party stands firmly with the grieving family in this difficult time.
