PPP to mark ZAB death anniversary at district level this year

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Mar, 2026) Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) South Punjab President and former governor Punjab Makhdoom Syed Ahmed Mahmood, announced observing the death anniversary of PPP founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto at district level on April 4 this year.

The decision has been made on the directives of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

In a statement issued here on Thursday, Mahmood said that directives have been conveyed to all district organisations of South Punjab, including allied wings, public representatives and ticket holders, to arrange Quran Khawani in their respective districts and pay tribute to the martyred leader.

He stated that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has decided not to hold a central gathering this year in view of the prevailing situation in the country.

Instead, commemorative events will be organised at divisional, city, district and tehsil levels across South Punjab, in line with arrangements being made throughout the country.

PPP south Punjab president said that these gatherings will include recitations, and prayers, where participants will pay homage to the sacrifices of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, who laid down his life for the country and its people.

The PPP leadership has urged party workers and supporters to actively participate in these events and reaffirm their commitment to the vision and ideology of the party’s founding leader.
