Practical steps afoot to develop underdeveloped areas: AJK PM

MIRPUR (AJK) , (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point news - 5th Apr, 2026) Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister (PM) Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, has said that practical steps were being taken to address the basic problems of the people besides to develop underdeveloped areas matching to the needs of the modern age.

?The PM said that the legitimate demands of the people of West Mandhar would be addressed on a priority basis.

He added that measures would be taken to improve the road network, enhance educational facilities, and strengthen local government institutions in the area.

?He also assured the delegation of the early completion of a transparent inquiry into the Rafaqat Gujjar murder case so that the victim’s family can receive justice.

He made these remarks while speaking to a delegation from West Mandhar, under the leadership of Advocate Khawaja Manzoor Lone, AJK government sources said.

The delegation included Khawaja Khurshid Lone, Khawaja Tariq Lone, Khawaja Mushtaq Lone, Khawaja Alauddin Naik, Khawaja Maqsood Lone, Khawaja Shahid Iqbal, Khawaja Bilal Tayyab, Khawaja Zafar Iqbal, and Khawaja Habib Khurshid.

During the meeting, the delegation sought the Prime Minister’s urgent attention to the construction of a two-kilometer road in West Mandhar, the establishment of a Girls High school, and the construction of Union Council office.?

The delegation also demanded the PM's intervention to expedite the investigation into the murder of Rafaqat Gujjar at the earliest.
