Pre-Rain Vaccination Drive Launched in Sanghar to Protect Livestock

SANGHAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Apr, 2026) A special vaccination campaign has been launched across Sanghar district to safeguard livestock against diseases ahead of the expected monsoon rains and possible flooding, on the directives of Sindh Minister for Livestock and Fisheries, Muhammad Ali Malkani.

According to officials of the Livestock Department, a pre-rain/flood carpet vaccination drive is being carried out at the council level throughout the district. In the first phase, the campaign is targeting high-risk union councils in each taluka, where animals are being vaccinated to prevent the outbreak of infectious diseases.

The vaccination drive is also underway in Union Council Piro Fakir Shoro of Tando Adam, where teams are actively administering vaccines to livestock.

The campaign is being supervised by Deputy Director Livestock Sanghar Dr Dost Akbar Mari and Senior Veterinary Officer Tando Adam Dr Altaf Ahmed Shah. The field teams include Dr Murtaza Mari, Dr Irfan Bhughio, Dr Ameer Lakho and supporting staff, who are engaged in vaccinating animals in different areas.

Officials said the objective of the campaign is to protect livestock during rains and flood-like conditions and to prevent financial losses to farmers and livestock owners.

Local residents and farmers have appreciated the initiative, expressing hope that timely vaccination will help maintain animal health and minimise losses in case of any emergency.
