Preparations peak in Lahore for "Marka-e-Haq" events from May 8-10: Commissioner

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th May, 2026) Lahore Division Commissioner Maryam Khan on Thursday said that arrangements were in full swing for the “Battle of Truth” (Marka-e-Haq) events to be held across the city from May 8 to 10, with a grand ceremony scheduled at Liberty Chowk.

Addressing a meeting regarding the arrangements, she said the main ceremony would be held at Liberty Chowk, Gulberg, on Friday (May 8), while rallies, walks and various events would be organised across Lahore during the three-day celebrations.

Maryam Khan said entry to the grand public event titled “Marka-e-Haq (Bunyan-um-Marsoos)” at Liberty Chowk would remain open to citizens, adding that committees of the district administration were present in the field to ensure smooth arrangements.

She said comprehensive planning had been made for security, cleanliness, traffic management, parking and municipal services to facilitate participants, adding that similar events would be held across all districts of Punjab in a befitting manner.

The commissioner said the entire nation was enthusiastic about the celebrations and urged citizens to participate actively to express gratitude and pay tribute to national heroes.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Lahore Capt (red) Ali Ijaz, CTO Lahore, SSP Operations Tauqeer Ahmed, Additional Commissioner Rao Abdul Jabbar, representatives of market associations and officers from various departments.
