TALAGANG, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Apr, 2026) In a decisive move to curb profiteering, the local administration on Wednesday launched a sweeping crackdown in the Pachnand area of Tehsil Lawa, targeting overpricing and the sale of unauthorized goods. The operation, spearheaded by Incharge Pera Force Muhammad Ehtisham, underscored a renewed commitment to safeguarding consumer rights and enforcing officially mandated price lists.
Authorities reported that several shopkeepers were found inflating prices and selling prohibited cigarette products lacking mandatory health warnings issued by the Ministry of Health. Legal notices were promptly served to offenders, signaling zero tolerance for violations that compromise public interest and regulatory compliance.
During the operation, three shops were sealed on the spot over serious breaches, while another vendor was fined Rs. 5,000. Officials described the action as part of a broader strategy to deter unlawful market practices and ensure transparency in retail dealings.
Reaffirming its stance, the administration vowed to sustain such enforcement drives to stabilize prices and provide relief to consumers. Shopkeepers have been sternly directed to adhere strictly to official price lists and legal requirements, with authorities warning that any future violations will invite strict legal consequences.
