RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th May, 2026) Private school associations and education stakeholders have welcomed the Punjab government’s decision to allow one-month summer camps in schools during the upcoming vacations.

Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat had announced that summer camps would operate for one month during the holidays, with morning timings from 7:30 am to 9:30 am to avoid extreme heat. The initiative is aimed at syllabus completion and academic continuity.

Private school representatives, in brief interaction with APP, appreciated the decision, saying it would help both students and institutions maintain academic engagement during the prolonged summer break.

They described the camps as a practical step to reduce any possible learning losses due to three-month-long vacations.

Amjad Zeb, Director Anum Public School, added that the structured timing and optional academic activities would allow schools to revise core subjects without putting additional pressure on students or teachers during peak weather conditions.

Maryam Yasir, principal Excellence School System, said that the initiative could help standardize learning recovery programmes across both public and private education sectors, particularly in subjects where students face persistent performance gaps.

Meanwhile, parents also appreciated the summer camps' conduct.
