A delegation of Professional Education Foundation (PEF) visited University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) and held a two-day career counselling session for scholarship awardees

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Apr, 2026) A delegation of Professional Education Foundation (PEF) visited University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) and held a two-day career counselling session for scholarship awardees.

The delegation comprised (PEF) COO Jawaid Faruqui and PEF Alumni Association Manager Sameer Imtiaz called on UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zulfiqar Ali at VC Chamber.

Director Financial Assistance & University Advancement, Dr Nazia Ehsan and Assistance Director Waqar Akbar Khan also attended the meeting.

During the meeting, Jawaid Faruqui said that the Professional Education Foundation was established in January 2009, with a sole aim to financially support brilliant but underprivileged students for their professional education.

He said the foundation started scholarship program with UAF back in 2012 and each year, around 30 scholarships are awarded, and so far a total of 392 students has benefitted from this initiative.

He added that approximately Rs. 14 million in scholarships have already been disbursed, reflecting their dedication to promote higher education.

Career counseling will equip the students to compete globally, he added.

Dr Zulfiqar Ali said that the university was taking all-out support for the handholding of deserving students to continue their journey of knowledge and excellences.

He said that in today’s rapidly evolving world, universities must go beyond traditional education and focus on equipping students with the competencies required to excel globally. Such collaborations would open new horizons for UAF students, equipping them with skills and resources, he added.

Director Financial Assistance & University Advancement, Dr Nazia Ehsan emphasized that such career counselling programs are vital for grooming students beyond academic excellence.

UAF remains committed for providing opportunities that strengthen students’ personal and professional growth, she added.

Sameer Imtiaz remarked that the initiative will also include structured guidance for interview preparation in collaboration with a partner organization, enabling students to confidently pursue admissions and careers abroad.
