Providing quality food items to citizens on discount rate top priority: DC

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Feb, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Cap (R) Nadeem Nasir has said that providing quality items to citizens at cheap rates during the holy month of Ramadan-ul-Mubarak is a top priority of the district administration.

He warned that no one would be allowed to overcharge during the holy month.

During his visit to the Ramadan Sahulat Bazaar at Jhang Road here on Monday, he said that steps being taken to provide maximum relief to citizens before Ramadan have been accelerated so that people could shop for essential items at economical rates.

He said that the Punjab government has approved a special subsidy on 16 essential items in the Ramadan Sahulat Bazaars.

He said that the edible items including chicken, gram flour, flour, sugar, potato, onion, tomato, ghee, pumpkin, garlic, lemon, grams, Apple, banana, dates, guava, and melon would be available at 10 to 15 percent discount in the bazaars.

Deputy Commissioner strictly instructed for monitoring of Sahulat Bazaars on a daily basis.

He said that Price Control Magistrates have also been strictly directed to ensure implementation on government price lists of commodities. He said that three Ramadan Sahulat bazaars have been established in the district, in addition to Ramadan Dastarkhwans.

The facility of free Iftar would be available to common citizens.
