Provincial Election Commissioner chairs voter education meeting in Quetta

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Jun, 2026) A meeting of the Provincial Voter Education Committee was held at the office of the Provincial Election Commissioner Balochistan, chaired by Ali Asghar Sial.

The session brought together officials from the Election Commission, NADRA, universities, local government, social welfare departments, and civil society organizations to discuss strategies for enhancing voter awareness and participation.

In his opening remarks, Provincial Election Commissioner Ali Asghar Sial underscored the importance of the committee’s role in strengthening public engagement in the electoral process. He emphasized that effective voter education is vital to ensuring transparency and inclusivity in elections.

The meeting reviewed proposals and challenges submitted by district voter education committees across Balochistan.

Participants presented recommendations aimed at increasing voter turnout, particularly focusing on the active inclusion of women, youth, and marginalized communities. They highlighted the need to improve the effectiveness of mobile registration vans for issuing women’s identity cards, and to design strategies based on reliable data about disadvantaged groups.

The session also stressed the importance of awareness campaigns to encourage voter registration and participation, ensuring that every eligible citizen has access to the electoral process.

Provincial Election Commissioner Ali Asghar Sial praised the valuable suggestions and active participation of stakeholders. He assured that the recommendations would guide further initiatives to strengthen voter education and electoral inclusion across the province.
