MIRPURKHAS, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Apr, 2026) In a significant and visionary move, Provincial Minister for Culture and Tourism Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah directed the restoration of the historic Pratap Bhawan House and revival of Arts Councils during his visit to Mirpurkhas, whereas the initiative aims to rejuvenate cultural and heritage sites, furthermore strengthening tourism prospects in the region.
Accompanied by Mayor Abdul Rauf Ghori and Deputy Commissioner Nawab Sameer Hussain Laghari, the minister visited the Arts Council Mirpurkhas on Wednesday, meanwhile issuing directives to reactivate Arts Councils in both Mirpurkhas and Hyderabad. He emphasized that vibrant and inclusive literary and cultural activities should begin immediately, ensuring that local artists are supported effectively with full facilities.
The minister later reviewed the historic Pratap Bhawan House, established in 1936, and termed it a valuable and iconic part of the region’s heritage. He instructed the Director General of Archaeology to initiate restoration measures promptly, moreover stating that the site would be upgraded on the pattern of Mukhi House to preserve its cultural significance.
Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah noted that restoration efforts would enhance awareness among tourists, therefore contributing to the promotion of heritage tourism. He reiterated strongly that the government remains committed to preserving historical landmarks, as such initiatives will ultimately boost tourism and provide improved facilities to citizens.
