Provincial minister reviews Eid cleanliness operation in Jaranwala

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th May, 2026) Punjab Minister for Local Government Zeeshan Rafique on Wednesday visited Jaranwala to review Eid-ul-Azha cleanliness arrangements under the “Suthra Punjab” campaign on the directions of Chief Minister(CM),Maryam Nawaz.

Accompanied by Secretary Local Government Shakeel Ahmed, the minister inspected sanitation operations across different areas of the city and reviewed arrangements for lifting and disposal of sacrificial animal waste.

Suthra Punjab Managing Director,Abid Hussain Bhatti, Assistant Commissioner Jaranwala Aurangzaib Goraya and other officials were also present on the occasion.

Officials briefed the minister on deployment of machinery, field staff performance and the complaint redressal mechanism put in place for Eid days.

The minister also visited a Suthra Punjab camp, where he distributed lunch and Eid gifts among sanitation workers and lauded their efforts in difficult weather conditions.

Speaking on the occasion, Zeeshan Rafique said sanitation workers were the “real heroes” of the Eid cleanliness drive, adding that they were ensuring clean cities despite harsh weather conditions.

He said the entire provincial administration, including ministers and field officers, remained present in the field during Eid-ul-Azha to ensure effective sanitation arrangements.

He added that he would proceed to Multan after completing his visit, saying the government was committed to maintaining cleanliness across the province during Eid days.

The minister also interacted with citizens and sought feedback on cleanliness arrangements and service delivery in the city.

Residents expressed satisfaction over sanitation measures and appreciated the efforts of the provincial government and Chief Minister(CM),Maryam Nawaz.

Zeeshan Rafique directed officials to ensure round-the-clock monitoring of field operations and swift response to public complaints regarding waste disposal.

He reiterated that providing a clean and healthy environment remained a top priority of the Punjab government, adding that all available resources were being utilized for successful Eid cleanliness operations.
