Provision of vocational education to juveniles reviewed

BAHAWALPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Apr, 2026) Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia reviewed provision of technical education to juveniles at prison in Bahawalpur.

According to an official press release issued here, the commissioner visited the Borstal Institute of Juvenile Jail Bahawalpur, where he conducted a detailed review of the facilities being provided to juvenile inmates.

He also reviewed the school established within the jail, educational activities, and the system of vocational and technical training being provided to the inmates. The Commissioner directed that educational and vocational training opportunities for juvenile inmates be further improved to ensure their rehabilitation, so that they can become useful members of society after their release.

On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Syed Hassan Raza, DIG Prisons Bahawalpur Region Qazi Aslam, and Superintendent Jail Mansoor Akbar were also present with him.

The Commissioner obtained detailed information regarding the basic facilities provided to the juvenile prisoners, the quality of food, and its timely provision.

He also instructed the jail administration to identify the issues faced by the institution and take immediate steps for their resolution. Furthermore, he emphasized maintaining cleanliness, health, and hygiene standards within the jail.
