PSB completes EFP elections

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd May, 2026) The Election Commission of the Pakistan Sports board (PSB) successfully conducted elections for the Equestrian Federation of Pakistan (EFP), marking another milestone in PSB's ongoing governance reform agenda.

The elections were held in strict accordance with the Sports Election Regulations Pakistan (SERP), notified on 24th December 2024, and the PSB Constitution 2022, said a press release issued here Sunday.

The process from scrutiny of candidatures to announcement of results was completed with full transparency, adherence to due process, and active oversight by the PSB Election Commission.

The candidates who were elected to lead the Equestrian Federation of Pakistan included; President Raja Zarar Sajjad,

Secretary General Mr. Rehman Ullah Khan and Treasurer Syed Wamiq Shabbir (Unopposed).

The PSB Election Commission, comprising Election Commissioner Waseem Majid Malik and members Babur Suhail and Zohaib Hassan Gondal, oversaw all stages of the process including publication of the election schedule, scrutiny and finalisation of candidate lists, and announcement of results.

The elections reflect PSB's commitment to institutional reform, free and fair electoral processes, and accountable sports governance across all National Sports Federations (NSFs). The process was conducted under the National Sports Policy 2005, the National Sports Federations (Tenure) Rules 2025, and SERP introduced for the first time in sports by the Director General Yasir Pirzada to establish a robust, rules-based framework that protects the integrity of sports administration in Pakistan.
