LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Feb, 2026) The Virtual Blood Bank established at Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) provided timely A+ blood to a 16-year-old cancer patient, saving her life after an emergency request was received through the Emergency 15 helpline.

A PSCA spokesperson said on Monday that a citizen called Emergency 15 from Children’s Hospital Lahore requesting urgent blood for his daughter who was under treatment in the ICU and in critical need of A+ blood.

Upon receiving the information, the Safe City officer took immediate action and traced a suitable donor through the Virtual Blood Bank database. The donor was contacted promptly and reached the hospital in time to donate blood, which helped save the life of the minor patient, Fakhera Usman, who was battling cancer.

The girl’s father expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Safe City team for their swift, effective and humanitarian response and extended best wishes for their services.

The spokesperson said that more than 120,000 citizens, police personnel and officers have so far been registered as donors in the Virtual Blood Bank. The platform remains active 24/7 to ensure immediate blood supply in medical emergencies.

Citizens have been urged to call 15 and press 4 in case of any medical emergency or urgent blood requirement so that timely assistance can be provided, said spokesperson.
