The Punjab Safe Cities Authority has launched a "Virtual Center for Polio Workers' Security" under the "Safe Punjab Vision" of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to ensure protection of polio teams across the province

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Apr, 2026) The Punjab Safe Cities Authority has launched a "Virtual Center for Polio Workers' Security" under the "Safe Punjab Vision" of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to ensure protection of polio teams across the province.

According to a PSCA spokesperson on Thursday, the initiative aims to provide effective monitoring and immediate security support to polio workers during field duties. In the first phase, over 13,000 polio workers have been registered and integrated with the Safe City Public Safety App, with plans to expand the system further in phases.

He said that through the application, polio workers would be able to confirm their safety before deployment, during duty and upon return, while in case of any emergency, they could instantly request assistance through the app.

Upon receiving alerts, Safe City teams would ensure timely response.

The spokesperson added that polio workers could also share videos of any critical incidents directly with PSCA, while the “Connect to PSCA” feature enables live linkage of mobile cameras with the Safe City system for real-time monitoring.

The spokesperson further said that the app also provides access to Emergency-15 alert buttons along with live chat and video call features to ensure prompt communication during emergencies.
